Healthy Lifestyles Team:
Participants Share Their Experience on Healthy Lifestyles:
Each Healthy Lifestyle module is concluded with a graduation ceremony. Participants who attend at least three of the four weeks received a certificate of completion. Those participants who attended all four session receive a certificate presented by the program’s co-coordinators, Kathy Camisa and Jenny Anton.
In addition, the Healthy Lifestyles team presents various “awards” to those patients who make outstanding efforts to take control of their health. Some awards include most weight loss for male & female participants
and most steps taken over the course of the class.
During the May 28, 2011 graduation ceremony, Diana was recognized for her weight loss over the four weeks period. She said the most useful information she found in the course was learning about serving sizes and how to read nutrition labels.
Another class participant, Manuel takes a moment at the end of the graduation ceremony to thank CEO, Nina Gray for “putting together a team of excellence”. He went on to say the Clinic is a community and he has found his Angels here. Manuel and his wife received certificates for perfectattendance.

Tips for a Healthy Lifestyle:
In these busy times it may be difficult to schedule and keep workouts. So why not find other ways to exercise such as taking the stairs instead of the elevator, parking at the far end of parking lots instead of near the doors and move about during commercial breaks while watching television?
Over the years Americans have fallen victim to “portion distortion”. It is important to read nutrition labels to find the accurate portion sizes.
It is also important to understand the harm that one does to one’s body and the tremendous amount of weight that can be gained by eating mainly “junk” or “fast food”.
Volunteers are involved in selecting, interviewing, and enrolling the appropriate patients, entering data on the participant’s progress, calling to confirm attendance, and in general working with the two program coordinators to insure that the program runs smoothly and thereby provides the maximum benefit to our patients.
