10th Annual Block Party: February 16, 2013

The Neighborhood Health Clinic announces their 10th annual Block Party. It will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at the Naples Beach Hotel and Golf Club. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy a cocktail reception, an elegant sit-down dinner and dancing to the local popular duo Cahlua and Cream.

The goal of the event is to generate approximately 25% of the Neighborhood Health Clinic’s annual operating budget. The Clinic delivers quality medical care to low-income, working, but uninsured, Collier County adults, using a volunteer professional staff. The patients of the Neighborhood Health Clinic are the real beneficiaries of the revenue generated at the Block Party.

Leslie Lascheid Joins Staff as Chief Executive Office

Monday, September 6, 2012 marked a defining moment in the history of the Neighborhood Health Clinic.  The Board is pleased to announce the newest member of our Clinic team, Leslie Lascheid.  Leslie joined as our Chief Executive Officer. Nina Gray will return to the role as Chief Development officer.  It is truly a win-win for both of them as well as for the organization.

The Influenza Vaccination

Next month marks the start of flu season. In the United States alone, more than 200,000 people are hospitalized each year due to the influenza virus. The Neighborhood Health Clinic offers free flu shots to all of its patients and volunteers to help minimize the hospitalizations and the spread of the virus.

Although the general public is encouraged to receive flu vaccinations, people in close living accommodations and who work (or volunteer) in a health care facility are at a higher risk for contracting the flu. Since there are constant mutations of the virus, it is recommended that everyone receives an annual vaccination.

September 11 Tribute Meet & Greet

A hero is commonly defined as “a man distinguished by exceptional courage, nobility, and fortitude.”

September is filled with ceremonies to remember those who lost their lives and to pay tribute to the heroes that emerged 11 years ago. It is in that spirit the Neighborhood Health Clinic honors local first responders, the heroes right here in our own backyard.

On Tuesday, September 11 the City of Naples Police Department and the Collier County Sheriff’s Office were greeted at the Neighborhood Health Clinic by board members, volunteers and staff members. They were presented with home-made baked goods and a commemorative brick for each agency that will be installed on the Clinic entrance walkway.

7th Annual Walk for the Way

ABOUT THE WALK

Hosted by Collier County Parks & Recreation, and with generous support from Publix Supermarkets, the 7th annual United Way of Collier County Walk for the Way will take place at 9:00am on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at North Collier Regional Park.

The Walk for the Way is a family-friendly 2.5-mile walk to raise community awareness of the good work the United Way does to help 100,000 residents in Collier County each year.  Proceeds from the event will benefit 30 local non-profit human service agencies that provide hundreds of programs and services to residents living in Collier County.
