2018 – 2019 Guild Leadership:
Eight years ago, I came to Naples as a new bride, knowing little to nothing about my new lifestyle as a wife. I took on the challenge with the help of my mother and sister. I became part of Naples, learned to play golf and got involved with some lovely ladies who introduced me to the Neighborhood Health Clinic and the Guild; it really caught my attention.
At my first Spring Luncheon, Gretchen Brown told me “They are looking for interpreters at the Clinic. You should go and help.” Well, I did it! Since then I have been volunteering and it has been quite an experience! I’ve met the best doctors, nurses and volunteers helping “poor working people” with love and enthusiasm. I see it with my own eyes and it is incredible. How they help hundreds of patients to heal with so much care and love in all aspects of medical and dental care, with plans to expand the dental services. That Friends is a “big deal”. As you know, if you don’t have a good dental health your entire body and immune system are in jeopardy.
I also joined the Guild where I organized the Clinic Tours with Nancy Cooke. It was fun to see how impressed everybody (including my husband) was with the concept and facilities. I also assisted with Guild Pleasures, which brings meals for the Clinic’s volunteers and staff. After all this, I was elected as the President of The Guild for the 2018 – 2019 season.
Learning how the Guild was formed, I want to personally acknowledge and thank Jane Scholtz and her committee for their initiative, passion, enthusiasm and compassion for the Clinic. Together they worked very hard and have been a big part of raising funds and awareness for the Clinic.
This coming year will be an exciting one and I’m looking forward to it! Hope you will join us this year!
With warm regards,
2017 – 2018 Guild Leadership:
J. P. Perkins serves as the 2017 – 2018 President of the Neighborhood Health Clinic Guild. J.P. has been a resident of Naples since 2014. She has served in various Guild capacities since that time. J.P. generously donates her time and talent because she believes in “giving back” and wants to do what she can to “make sure that those in our community who work hard and make up the backbone of the Naples economy have access to quality medical and dental care.”
