Board of Directors

Neighborhood Health Clinic has a diverse board of directors, broadly represented by business leaders and medical professionals, who focus on the high-level strategies, oversight, and accountability of Clinic operations to keep our mission pure. They are fiduciaries whose collective expertise stewards the Clinic toward a sustainable future. They do this by adopting sound, ethical, and legal governance and financial management policies, as well as by making sure the Clinic has the resources needed to advance its mission to deliver quality medical care to our underserved Collier County neighbors.

Executive Board

John P. Cardillo, Esq.

Mr. John P. Cardillo has been practicing law in Naples since 1972. He is a partner in the law firm Cardillo, Keith & Bonaquist, P.A., where he concentrates on representing clients in personal injury, criminal and general civil litigation cases. Mr. Cardillo graduated from Furman University with a B.A. degree in 1964 and the University of South Carolina Law School with a J.D. degree in 1968. From 1992 to 2002 Mr. Cardillo served as the Governor for the Twentieth Judicial Circuit of Florida to the Board of Governors of The Florida Bar, and served six years on the Florida Judicial Qualifications Commission. He is a past President of the Collier County Bar Association. He has also served the Naples community as President of various civic and charitable organizations. Mr. Cardillo was awarded the Naples Daily News’ Outstanding Citizen for 2005 and the Collier County Judges’ Donald Van Koughnet “Lion of the Law” Professionalism Award in 2003, as well as the Florida Bar’s G. Kirk Haas Humanitarian Award in 2001. He and his wife Linda have raised four children: John, Joseph, Margaret and Mark, educated in the local public schools.

Paul Jones, MD

Dr. Paul O. Jones is Board Certified in Family Medicine and has been affiliated with NCH for 26 years. Dr. Jones is currently the President of the Medical Staff, serving as Chair of the Medical Executive Committee (MEC) and ex-officio member of all medical staff meetings. Dr. Jones has served as President-Elect, Secretary-Treasurer and 2 terms as Chair of the Department of Family Medicine from 2014 – 2016. He has also chaired the Physician Advisory Committee, the committee charged with overseeing the conversion of full electronic health records at NCH.

Dr. Jones’ other leadership roles have been; chairman of the Hospital Disaster Committee following Hurricane Andrew, member of the Professional Capabilities Committee (PCC), Board Member of the Southwest Florida Physicians Association (SWFPA), founding Board Member of Community Health Partners, founding Member and Past President of Anchor Health Centers, past Board Member of the American Heart Association (Collier County), Co-Chair with his wife Susan for the Collier County Heart Ball, founding board Member and Chairman (2004-2006) of the Board at The Neighborhood Clinic as well as participating physician volunteer at the clinic, physician volunteer for disasters at NCH and the special needs shelter during Hurricane Andrew. His other community activities include: board member for The Winged Foot Scholarship foundation and the 2013 Chair for the Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida’s Business Hall of Fame Committee, annual physician volunteer for free high school sports physicals, physician volunteer for the Naples Gators football team, President of the Naples North Rotary 2008-2009, President of Naples Sunset Rotary club 1997-1998, board member of both Rotary clubs, Naples North Rotarian of the year 2008, Anchor Health Physician of the Year for 2003 and NCH Physician of the Year for 2014.

Dr. Jones is a native of Kingston, Jamaica. He became an American citizen in 1984. He attended Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, graduating Suma Cum Laude, earning a B.S. Degree with Honors. He attended the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and completed his Family Medicine Residency at BayFront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, Florida, where he was awarded the Charles Aucreman Art of Medicine Award. Dr. Jones moved to Naples to open his practice in 1990. Dr. Jones is never too busy to help when and where needed. As the Rotarian in charge of International Service for the North Naples Rotary Club, he has helped to build an asthma clinic, a school, a water project for a village and a playground for a town in Jamaica.

Dr. Jones mother instilled in him a strong sense of compassion and responsibility. His father taught him to “always do the best you can with the opportunity that comes your way.” His family comes first and his time off is spent with his wife Susan and his children Stephanie, Andrew and Nathan. They also helped raise a fourth child, Juno starting at age 12. They play tennis, fish, go boating and travel.

BOARD TREASURER, CHAIR OF FINANCE, MEMBER OF STRATEGIC

C. Michael Armstrong

Mr. Armstrong is retired Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Johns Hopkins Medicine, retired Chairman and Director Emeritus of Comcast Corporation and the former Chairman CEO of AT&T and Hughes Electronics. Prior to these positions, he spent more than three decades with IBM. Mr. Armstrong earned a Bachelor’s degree from Miami University of Ohio, and has received six honorary doctorate degrees. Mr. Armstrong is a retired visiting professor at MIT Sloan School, and serves on the board of directors of IDS, the Telluride Foundation, the US Marine Corps Foundation and in Naples, FL, the Neighborhood Health Clinic and Artis-Naples. Mr. Armstrong is philanthropically active in higher education, medical research, community needs, disadvantaged kids and infrastructure projects in Guatemala.

ASSISTANT TREASURER, MEMBER OF FINANCE

Janet Vasey

Mrs. Vasey has been a resident of Collier County for 25 years. She has an extensive background in financial management and held the position of Director of Program Analysis and Review for the Assistant Secretary of the Army where she was a civilian employee for 20 years. Mrs. Vasey earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Rice University and her Master’s degree in Public Financial Management from American University. Since moving to Naples with her husband, Dennis, Mrs. Vasey has been active in a variety of homeowner and Collier County advisory committees, as well as civic, political and social organizations. Mrs. Vasey joined the Neighborhood Health Clinic in 2013 to serve on the finance committee and was elected to the board in 2014.

Craig Eichler, MD

Dr. Eichler specializes in general dermatology and dermatologic surgery with the Woodruff Institute. He received his B.A. from Emory University and his M.D. from the University of Florida. Dr. Eichler served his residency at the University of Texas and is certified by the American Board of Dermatology. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, past president of the Florida Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery and a member of the Collier County Medical Society.

Kitty Sachs

Mrs. Sachs has been instrumental as a volunteer at the Neighborhood Health Clinic. In addition to being a valuable Board Member, Mrs. Sachs is the head of the intake counseling department for the Clinic. As head of intake, Mrs. Sachs works with potential patients as well as current patients on all of their continual requirements needed to be a qualified patient of the Clinic. Mrs. Sachs has been involved with the Clinic for over 10 years.

Barbara Britten, MD

Dr. Britten is a Board Certified Internal Medicine physician, who has been practicing medicine for 15 years, the last eight here in Naples, where her reputation for compassion, medical expertise and patient care is well known. She graduated from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey after having raised her family and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society.

Dr. Britten has worked in many areas of medicine; teaching, research, and private practice, was director of a hospitalist program and now has a concierge practice. She has been involved in many hospital medical committees and sat on the board of the Alumni Association of New Jersey Medical School. Dr. Britten was instrumental in revamping the core curriculum of New Jersey Medical School, where she has won many awards for her excellence in patient care as well as her dedication to teaching.

She loves fitness and music, whether singing or playing.

Vincent Foglia

Mr. Vincent Foglia founded Sage Products, a leading developer of hospital products used in patient infection control and preventative care. Under Mr. Foglia’s leadership, Sage successfully produced innovative products that significantly improved patient and clinician outcomes. Equally committed to employees, Mr. Foglia led Sage when they were named one of the Best Medium-Sized Companies to Work For in America. After decades at the helm, Mr. Foglia retired as Chairman of the Board in 2017. He served in the United States Navy and graduated from the University of Illinois in Champaign. His philanthropic interests include many civic organizations, healthcare facilities and youth sports. He and his wife are seasonal residents of Naples.

William R. Johnson

William R. Johnson is the retired Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of the H. J. Heinz Company. Mr. Johnson became President and Chief Operating Officer of Heinz in June 1996, and was appointed President and CEO in December 1997 officially assuming the role in April 1998. He was named Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer in September 2000, becoming only the 5th in the company’s 144 years.

An active supporter of community organizations, he has served as a member of the national Athena Awards committee, chaired the 2001 annual campaign for the United Way of Western Pennsylvania, co-chaired the capital campaign in 2009 to raise funds for the new Ronald McDonald House in Pittsburgh, and chaired numerous local events including the 2004 Pittsburgh Cultural Trust gala event. In 2006, he received the inaugural Global Visionary Award from Helen Keller International for Heinz’s micronutrient program for combating childhood anemia. He also received the Marco Polo Award, the highest honor bestowed by the Chinese government on foreign business leaders, for Heinz’s support of the development of the Chinese food industry. Mr. Johnson also commissioned a study on leadership that led to the 2010 publication of the book, “Preparing CEO’s for Success.” Proceeds from the book sales are donated to Ronald McDonald House Charities, Inc.

Mr. Johnson is a member of the Board of Directors of UPS (Lead Director) and PepsiCo. He is an Operating Partner with the private equity firm Advent International and serves as Chairman of Sovos Brands, an investment vehicle for food and beverage acquisitions, and as a director for Dawn Holdings, the parent company of Serta Simmons Bedding. Mr. Johnson was inducted into the Hall of Fame at the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas on October 26, 2007.

Mr. Johnson earned his undergraduate degree from UCLA and his MBA from the University of Texas. He and his wife, Susie, have two children as well as six grandchildren.

Leslie Lascheid

The Neighborhood Health Clinic‘s Board of Directors named Leslie Lascheid as the Chief Executive Officer in September 2012. Ms. Lascheid brings to the position an impressive combination of education and experience in business finance and employment law management. For over 14 years, she has been assisting her parents, Dr. William and Nancy Lascheid ‘behind the scenes’ supporting their vision. Ms. Lascheid is strategically positioning the organization to continue to meet the challenges of the ever changing healthcare landscape.

Robert Meli, MD

Dr. Robert Meli is an MD with a residency in Diagnostic Radiology. He is President of Naples Radiologists and a graduate of Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Meli has practiced Radiology in Naples since 1974. In addition to the Neighborhood Health Clinic, he is on the Boards of SunTrust Banks and Naples Diagnostic Imaging Centers.

Alejandro Perez – Trepichio MD

Dr. Alejandro Perez-Trepichio is Chief Medical Officer of Millennium Physician Group, the country’s no. 1 Accountable Care Organization (ACO) in earned savings. Headquartered in Fort Myers, Florida, Millennium Physician Group is among one of the largest independent physician groups in the state and is one of the only Shared Savings Program ACOs in the country with savings success for the past five years since the inception of the Medicare program. Millennium also has successful commercial ACOs with several national payers in savings positions, as well.

Dr. Perez-Trepichio earned his medical degree from La Universidad Nacional De La Plata in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He then pursued a research career at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio, where he received grants from the National Institutes of Health as co-investigator, and from the American Heart Association, while publishing several articles in peer-reviewed journals. He then completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation – Florida in Weston and relocated to Naples in 2000. In 2009, Dr. Perez-Trepichio joined Millennium Physician Group.

Dr. Perez-Trepichio initially served as Millennium Physician Group’s Medical Director and subsequently became Regional Chief Medical Officer. He was elevated to companywide CMO toward the end of 2018 and continues to practice Internal Medicine, while remaining a member of the executive team. He is also currently a board member of Collier County Medical Society and a delegate to the Florida Medical Association. Dr. Perez-Trepichio is a member of the Physician Hospital Organization (PHO) in Collier County, and the Southwest Florida Physicians Association (IPA). He was most recently named to the Neighborhood Health Clinic Board also in Collier County, where he resides.

William Raveis

William “Bill” Raveis, Jr. is founder & CEO of William Raveis, the No. 1 independent real estate company for the Northeast and Florida and 10th in the nation with 4,500 agents, 140 offices, in 8 states. Mr. Raveis has authored four books about growing a family-owned business for 50 years. Since 2015, The William Raveis Charitable Fund has raised nearly $4 million to support groundbreaking research at the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation and The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Dr. James Talano

James V. Talano MD, MM, FACC is an internationally recognized expert in the field of noninvasive cardiology with broad experience in cardiovascular care and management. He has held the positions of Director of Cardiology at the Cleveland Clinic Naples, Director of Cardiology Graphics and Chief of Clinical Cardiology in the Section of Cardiology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Lester B. Knight Professor of Medicine at Northwestern University Medical School and at Lakeside Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Chicago, IL.

Marti Van Veen

Marti Van Veen has lived in Southwest Florida for nearly four decades. She has more than 25 years of healthcare management experience in the areas of Business Development, Marketing & Strategy, Public Relations, Managed Care, and Physician Recruitment. Currently Marti serves as the Vice President, Engagement Center Services for Healthgrades. Marti graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Western Governors University. She also holds an MBA from Western Governors University.

She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, and is active in multiple service organizations throughout the greater Naples area. A 2017 Graduate of The Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Collier, she also serves on the Southwest Florida Chairman’s Board of the American Heart Association, the Executive Leadership Team for the AHA Heart Walk, the Executive Leadership Team for the AHA Heart Ball, and the Board of Directors for the Bonita Springs Estero Economic Development Council. She is passionate about working with local organizations that assist individuals with their medical needs.

Kevin Walker

Kevin P. Walker, CFP® is a Senior Vice President, Portfolio Management Director and Wealth Advisor for a global wealth management firm in Naples, Florida. His experience in wealth management spans 28 years.

Prior to his current role, Kevin was a Vice President and Senior Account Executive for Fidelity Investments’ Private Client Group. During his fourteen years with Fidelity, he worked in Dallas, Boca Raton, and Naples. Kevin previously served as a Financial Advisor for five years with Prudential Securities in Ponte Vedra Beach and Jacksonville, Florida.

A native of Texas, Kevin graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Stephen F. Austin State University.

Kevin and his wife, Jennifer, also a Financial Advisor and partner in their wealth management practice in Naples, have supported the Clinic in various capacities for over a decade, through fundraising, active roles on committees such as the Block Party, the Guild, the Development Committee, the Finance Committee and the next-generation group, “The BlockList.”

The Walkers reside in Fort Myers Beach with their daughters, Kayla and McKenzie. In his free time, Kevin enjoys spending time with his family, boating, and golf. He is a member of McGregor Baptist Church in Fort Myers and actively supports various local charities.
