Board of Directors

The Neighborhood Health Clinic Board Members support the Clinic’s mission to deliver quality healthcare to low-income, working but uninsured Collier County adults, using a volunteer professional staff in a caring and supportive environment. The Board also helps determine, review and approve major policies. Board members attend and participate in fundraising events, programs and activities.


John McDonough, Board Chair

John McDonough, Board Chair

Mr. McDonough is the co-founder and Chairman of McDonough Medical Products Corporation and Progeny Inc. Progeny designs, develops, manufactures and distributes a full line of dental imaging systems and medical imaging components.

Mr. McDonough is also a co-founder of McKinney Prosthetics. The company specializes in state-of-the-art prosthetic technology featuring the Harmony system with the science of Vacuum Assisted Socket System Technology.

Born in Chicago, Mr. McDonough and his wife, Marilyn, reside in Lake Forest, Illinois part time. Their five children and eight grandchildren reside in Chicago, IL, Austin, TX and Madison, WI.



Nancy Lascheid, Co-Founder

Mrs. Lascheid holds degrees from Allegheny College, Jackson Memorial Hospital, and University of Pittsburgh. Her professional career focused primarily on emergency medicine and nursing education. After moving to Florida from Pittsburgh in 1982, she joined her husband in his private practice.

Mrs. Lascheid and her husband, Dr. Bill Lascheid created and developed an innovative option of health care for the working poor in the Naples community when they opened the Neighborhood Health Clinic on April 12, 1999.



William Lascheid, M.D. – Co-Founder

Dr. Lascheid is retired dermatologist in Naples, Florida. He has degrees from Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, PA; the University of Pittsburgh; Case Western Reserve University and The Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Lascheid served with first Marine Division in Korea in 1951/52. His tour of duty included serving as both a Battalion Surgeon and with a MASH unit

In 1982 Dr. Lascheid moved to Naples, Florida where he joined the medical staff at Naples Community Hospital. He served as Chief of Medicine for two years and worked the Emergency Department.

Dr. Lascheid was President of the Collier County Medical Society in 1992/93.

In 1999, Dr. Lascheid and his wife, Nancy co-founded the Neighborhood Health Clinic. They have received the Point of Light Award for the State of Florida, the National Jefferson Award for Public Service; The Partners in Medicine Award from the Florida Medical Association and in April 2011 they were recognized with the Healthcare Heroes Lifetime Achievement Award by Naples Daily News.

Mike Armstrong

Mr. Armstrong is Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Johns Hopkins Medicine, Health System Corporation and Hospital. He is the retired Chairman and Director Emeritus of Comcast Corporation and the former Chairman and CEO of AT&T and Hughes Electronics. Prior to these positions, he spent more than three decades with IBM. Mr. Armstrong earned a Bachelor’s degree from Miami University of Ohio, completed the advanced management curriculum at Dartmouth Institute, and received an honorary doctor of engineering degree from Worchester Polytechnic Institute and honorary doctor of laws degrees from Pepperdine University, Loyola Marymount University, and Shenandoah University. He is a retired visiting professor MIT Sloan School. He serves on the board of directors of IHS, IDS, the Telluride Foundation, the US Marine Corps Foundation and in Naples, FL, the Neighborhood Health Clinic, the Forum Club of Southwest Florida and the Philharmonic Center for the Arts. He is a senior advisor at SV Investment partners and Tudor Venture Capital. He is philanthropically active in higher education, medical research, community needs, disadvantaged kids and infrastructure projects in Guatemala.



Thomas Brick, DMD – Secretary

Dr. Thomas C Brick has been a resident of Naples for 28 years and has been practicing dentistry in the city since 1983. He was President of the Collier County Dental Association, as well as numerous professional organizations. He is also one of the founders of the dental program at the Neighborhood Health Clinic.

“Volunteering at NHC has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I feel honored to be a part of this wonderful effort” says Dr. Brick.



John Cardillo, Esq.

Mr. John P. Cardillo has been practicing law in Naples since 1972. He is a partner in the law firm of Cardillo, Keith & Bonaquist, P.A., where he concentrates on representing clients in personal injury, criminal and general civil litigation cases. He graduated from Furman University with a B.A. degree in 1964 and the University of South Carolina Law School with a J.D. degree in 1968. From 1992 to 2002 Cardillo served as the Governor for the Twentieth Judicial Circuit of Florida to the Board of Governors of The Florida Bar, and served six years on the Florida Judicial Qualifications Commission. He is a past President of the Collier County Bar Association.

He has also served the Naples community as President of various civic and charitable organizations. He was awarded the Naples Daily News’ Outstanding Citizen for 2005 and the Collier County Judges’ Donald Van Koughnet “Lion of the Law” Professionalism Award in 2003, as well as the Florida Bar’s G. Kirk Haas Humanitarian Award in 2001.

He and his wife Linda have raised four children: John, Joseph, Margaret and Mark, educated in the local public schools.

Mr. Davis had a 37-year career with May Department Stores working around the United States in Denver, CO, Pittsburgh PA, Hartford, CT, and Akron, OH. The stores he worked with included May D&F, Kaufmann’s, G. Fox & Co., and O’Neil’s.

He earned his B.A. from Columbia University and his M.B.A from Harvard Business School.

In addition to serving on the Neighborhood Health Clinic’s board of directors and marketing committee, Mr. Davis is a St. Matthew’s House board member and a lifetime board member of National Jewish Health in Denver, CO.

Mr. Davis is married with 4 children and 8 grandchildren.



George Ferguson, M.D. – Chair-Elect

Dr. Ferguson is a locally practicing internist who has been involved with helping the Neighborhood Health Clinic since its inception in 1999. He has accepted the position of Strategic Committee Chair. His leadership and strategic thinking enable us to meet and welcome the opportunities and challenges of the future.



Daniel Hickey

Daniel Hickey

Mr. Hickey is a Senior Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager at The Northern Trust. With over 30 years of experience as a portfolio manager and research analysts he is responsible for investment management and investment planning for personal trust, investment management and employee benefits accounts.

Mr. Hickey has a B.A. and M.B.A. in finance. He is a member of the Estate Planning Council of Naples, CFA Institute, CFA Society of Naples and Investment Management Consultants Association.

Northern Trust Bank has been a Block Party sponsor since 2005.



Paul Jones, M.D.

Dr. Jones is Board Certified in family medicine and is a Fellow of The American Academy of Family Physicians. He graduated from University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and completed his residency at Bayfront Medical Center in Tampa, Florida.

Dr. Jones is a product of a childhood environment that created a man who has excelled in the most important areas of life. He is an outstanding physician, recognized many times over by his peers. He is an involved, caring and active leader in the community. His family comes first and time off is spent with his wife Susan and their four children Stephanie, Juno, Andrew and Nathan.

Dr. Jones is one of the original steering committee members and past Board Chair for the Neighborhood Health Clinic and continues to volunteer at the Clinic.

“Every time I come to the Clinic I feel very special. There is warmth here that is tangible. There is a spirit that spreads from the waiting room through the offices and into the treatment rooms. It is a spirit of compassion and caring. You know right away that the physicians, nurses, staff, volunteers and patients feel this spirit. We are in this together and this is a very good thing.”



George McLauglin

Geroge McLaughlin

Mr. George McLaughlin is an international business executive with outstanding leadership ability. His broad experience encompasses all facets of management including CEO positions of large and mid-size corporations.

He attended graduate school in the United States at Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York and J.L. Kellogg School Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois as well as in Europe at Isead in Fontainebleau, France.

Mr. McLaughlin is active on several local community boards.



Robert Morantz, M.D.

Dr. Robert Morantz is a nationally recognized neurological surgeon. He was a military neurosurgeon at the Bethesda Naval Hospital, a founding member of the Midwest Neurosurgical Associates, and a Professor of Neurosurgery at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He is the author of a standard medical text on Brain Tumors and has published more than 75 articles in peer-reviewed medical journals.

Dr. Morantz is affiliated with numerous local, state, and national medical associations and has received many honors throughout his medical career.



Kitty Sach

Kitty Sachs

Mrs. Sachs has volunteered as an intake counselor at the Neighborhood Health Clinic for the past nine years. She received Bachelor of Science and Master of Education degrees from the University of Illinois. Mrs. Sachs lived in Dayton, OH where she was the Director of Consumer Affairs and director of a school of cooking for an upscale independent grocery store chain. Subsequently she and her husband opened and operated a fine dining restaurant in downtown Dayton. Since moving to Naples she has been very active in the community, volunteering at various local organizations and serving on the Board for Literacy Volunteers of Collier County. She spends her free time reading, beading, knitting and catering to her husband Dan and their two cats.



Chet Scholtz

Mr. Scholtz retired from Rossborough Supply Company as President and CEO after a 38 year career.

Mr. Scholtz began volunteering at the Neighborhood Health Clinic with his wife Jane in 2009. In 2010 he joined the Finance Committee, became a board member in 2011 and chairs the Audit Committee while continuing to serve on the Finance Committee.



Sandy Waite

Mrs. Waite, along with her husband Joe Waite, has owned Platinum Total Fabricare, a couture fabric care center operating in Naples and Bonita Springs, since 1989.

Mrs. Waite received her Bachelor of Science in Advertising from the University of Florida in 1987. She has been an active member of the Neapolitan Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association, was voted as the 2005 Neapolitan Chapter Woman of the Year, a 2007 Top Ten Business Women by the American Business Women’s Association, was recognized in 2004 by Gulfshore Business as a Forty under Forty award winner, was recognized as a 2006 Woman of Achievement by the American Association of University Women Greater Naples Branch, and is a graduate of the Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce, 2004 Leadership Collier Class.

Mrs. Waite and Platinum Total Fabricare have been supporting the Neighborhood Health Clinic since 2004 with donations to the Block Party, eventually becoming an annual sponsor.
